Annual cut flower that's easy to grow and harvest.
Strong stems are nicely arched at the top where 1/2– 3/4", nodding spikes dance and glitter. Makes a beautiful cut flower. Easy to harvest: cut the entire clump once seed heads are full, but still green. NOTE: Plants self-seed readily and can become invasive. Not recommended for use in rotation with grain crops or for landscaping. Take care to harvest seed-producing stems to avoid self-seeding and weed issues. Also known as rye brome, common chess, and little sea oats. Ht. 24–36". Avg. 8,500 seeds/oz. Packet: 200 seeds.

SOWING:Direct seed (recommended) - Sow seed 1/8" deep in early spring after last heavy frost. Make 2–3 successive sowings 2 weeks apart for continuous summer harvest. Transplant - Sow 4–5 weeks before last frost date. When first true leaves appear, transplant into larger cell packs or containers. Harden off to transplant outdoors after last frost.
