New! Art Deco-like blooms.
Bell-shaped, chartreuse-green blooms dance on contrasting tall, straight stems. Tiny, 1/2-1/3" long bells have a more curved look than the typical star-like shape of most Nicotiana. Grows easily from seed and is quick to flower in the field. Nicotiana flowers continuously for most of the season when cut back regularly. Blooms are relatively fragile and have a short vase life (5–7 days), making them best for casual bouquets, design work (not requiring a long vase life) and home cutting gardens. A favorite of pollinators and hummingbirds. Also known as flowering tobacco. Ht. 30–36". Avg. 283,800 seeds/oz. Packet: 100 seeds.
DAYS TO GERMINATION:7-14 days at 72-78°F (22-26°C)

SOWING:Transplant (recommended) - Sow into 72-cell flats 5-6 weeks before planting out. Gently press seeds into growing media or cover lightly as light aids germination. Harden-off and transplant out after last frost. Young plants benefit from pinching out the center stem to encourage branching. Grows easily from seed and is quick to flower in the field; plants will yield multiple cuts over the season.

LIGHT PREFERENCE:Sun/Part Shade.

PLANT SPACING:12-18".

HARDINESS ZONES:Annual.

VASE LIFE:5-7 days.

HARVEST:When about half the flowers on the stem are open. Stems are easy to clean but can leave a sticky residue on hands and harvest tools.

SOIL REQUIREMENTS:Fertile, well drained soil.

USES:Cut flowers, cottage gardens, beds and borders.

NOTES: Plants contain nicotine.
